Pushing the boundaries

boundaries2011 was a big year for web. A new coding language (HTML5) and way of styling websites (CSS3) came along after years of development, the only drawback is that older browsers such as Internet Explorer 7 don't support it. But what they all support is Javascript and as a result frameworks such as a jQuery, Mootools etc.

It's becoming more and more common to see sites offer the user a much more unique experience. This can be something like a login box that slides down from the top of the browser screen, or something more complex like having a 3d view of a product (an example can be found here: http://www.uize.com/examples/3d-rotation-viewer.html?tour=all

In conclusion companies are looking for more ways to engage visitors with designs that are not only visually attractive but offer the user the opportunity to engage with the website in a dynamic way. The possibilities are endless.
