Social Networks - Setting up a Facebook Business Page

You might think that social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter are just a way that productivity is reduced in the work place, that is partly true, however these sites can also benefit your business.

Setting up a business page on social networking sites such as 'Facebook' can also help to aid you in getting noticed. After you have request that people follow your page, you then have the potential to market to these people and others that join. Keeping your page up to date adding company news, product launches, software updates and more will generate interest and links to your website.

Facebook now allows users to create dedicated business pages for business, products, brands, etc...

How to set-up a 'Business Page'

  • Firstly you will need to have a personal Facebook account to setup a business page. Business pages are managed and created from within your personal account. If you set-up a business page first, you may find that Facebook will take it off-line as you are adding it as a personal page rather than a business page. So Personal page first, then set-up your business page.
  •  Once you have created a page you need to become a fan of the page otherwise it will not appear if you search for it.
  • Now fill in your company information, when founded, address, website, add a logo etc...
  • The benefit to setting up business pages is that if you wish to advertise on Facebook at a later date you can do so, you can't with a group. Here you can target ads by demographics, keywords and much more if you wish to in the future.
  • Now you will need to ask people to be followers/friends and also keep adding company information, news, product launches, add discussions etc...

Each time you add something add links to further info on your website, this will boost traffic to your website and brand, service and product exposure on Facebook.
